Thank you very much. I had been also putting up with this for a while, amazed that it actually worked. Note: I did not need to reboot the PC. I simply closed media center, and other applications, re-opened media center, and all was good!

I found this freezing can happen either way and its not related to the fix.

2 things.
- Antivirus software
- Drivers for the TV tuner or video card

I have found AVG pretty light weight or even Microsoft Security Essentials.

I have found that doing this causes an intermittent freezing problem durinh live TV where the system looks like it freezes but if you leave it, after about 5 mins it comes good. Any ideas?

a success also for I............i've put up with that problem for way too long - why didn't Microsoft let us know???? I missed so many TV moments!!!
